The Building Inspector, Brent Page, is responsible for all building and infrastructure inspections. He ensures that all buildings are constructed in accordance with current building codes.
Permit Applications are available at City Hall or a copy can be obtained under the "Forms" section on this page (left-hand side).
Building Permits are required for new construction and most remodels or upgrades to existing homes, as well as for accessory buildings that are over 200 sq. ft. Accessory buildings that are under 200 sq. ft. have a separate application. Permits are also required for re-roofs, electrical work, signs, and fences. An application must be submitted to the Building Department and issued a permit before work can begin.
Card, Cash, or Check are accepted for building permit fees. If paying by card, a 3% service charge will apply to all amounts over $1,000. (Visa and MasterCard only).
